![]() As do most parents, I have always wanted better for my own child. When Sally was born in 1995, I sought out a natural herbal soap without synthetic additives, because I was concerned about chemicals on her fine baby skin. Most of what I encountered then were tiny chunks of overpriced soap that dried out, or worse, burned my skin. I learned that most commercial soaps are just detergents that are artificially scented, colored, and preserved with chemicals that can be irritating to the skin. Why would I ever use a product like this on my precious baby? When I become disillusioned with something, I initiate change, so in 1997, I started to learn how to make natural herbal and aromatherapy soaps. |
It took plenty of time and determination, but with help, I mastered my own recipe for soap that produces a rich lather, smells delightful, and nourishes the skin fabulously. I sought out the best suppliers for vegetable oils and quality essential oils. From the very beginning, I was determined to skip synthetics like colorants, preservatives, and artificial scents, because using them meant that my products would be no different than anyone else's. Despite early criticism from my peers that "natural doesn't sell," I stood my ground and held to my belief that truly natural is best for your skin.
