Patchouli is a member of the mint family and a bushy herb that is native to tropical Asia. Patchouli essential oil is a thick, amber colored oil with a pungent mossy or musty smell, which is very long lasting. Those who like the scent believe that the oil enhances with age, unlike so many other essential oils. When mixed with camphor, Patchouli may remind some of the odor of India ink. |
Patchouli is also said to have tremendous powers in the world of beauty. Among its reputed uses: helping to reduce water weight gain and cellulite; helping control dandruff and perspiration; may be an aid in regulating oiliness, may help rejuvenate skin cells and diminish wrinkles, and may work as an insect repellent.
